2048 Decks is a puzzle game that combines numbers together, in which the game mechanic is to move the board one tile at a time in a direction of your choice to cause merges and create new values.
2048 Decks - A Strategic Number-Merging Puzzle Game
2048 Decks is a puzzle game using the same mechanics as merging numbers, but it changes the movement of the tiles a lot. Each move just moves tiles one space in the selected direction instead of one swipe moving the entire board as far as possible. Two identical numbers can only merge when the one in front can’t move any further forward. Crucially, however, tiles are not randomly generated but are drawn from a pre-determined deck, and the next three tiles are always visible on screen. Players can anticipate, plan a series of moves and avoid getting the board stuck proactively.
2048 Decks Gameplay: You Must Calculate Every Move
In 2048 Decks players can drag the board in the direction they want to move the tiles one step to the side. This mechanic doesn’t have tiles automatically sliding through all open space like traditional 2048. If a numbered tile collides with another tile with the same number then they combine into one tile with a larger number (and no more space to move). Merging tiles is no longer just a matter of swiping toward an open space, players need to plan ahead and position tiles correctly before merging.
Four Decks with Different Styles of Play
Deck basic number
The first deck is all familiar numbered tiles. The goal is still to assign values logically, initiate merges and continue to upgrade the highest number without making the board too crowded.
Barrier stone patio
Stones are obstacles which are not treated as normal numbered tiles. Players have to find ways to break stone blocks to make space and continue building the board.
Wild deck
The “Wild” card is a special tile that can be assigned any value. It is a flexible tool to deal with difficult situations but it has to be used on the right occasion for it to work.
Board-loading deck
In this special deck, the game board expands depending on the highest value tile created. The new space that has been created gives players more options but also changes the way they strategize.
