Capybas

Capybas – A Deduction Puzzle Game About Finding Hidden Capybaras

Capybas is an innovative puzzle game by Play Mirror Games that blends the deductive reasoning of Minesweeper with a strict rule system reminiscent of Sudoku. Players must analyze color zones, rows, columns, and the relationships between adjacent cells to pinpoint the location of each hidden capybara on the board. Each level presents a mini-logic puzzle requiring you to connect various clues. You must locate all the capybaras before running out of lives while simultaneously marking spots where they definitely do not exist. The game offers Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty levels, and coin rewards allow you to unlock new capybaras and themes.

Capybas Gameplay

Find capybaras based on multiple rules

Each color zone on the board contains exactly one capybara. Additionally, each row and column is permitted to hold only one capybara. The rules go further: no two capybaras can be adjacent to each other, not even diagonally. This combination turns every cell into a piece of a larger puzzle. Once you confirm a capybara's location, you can eliminate surrounding spots and narrow down your search area.

Two marking modes

  • Single tap: Mark an "X" on a cell where you believe there is no capybara.
  • Double tap: Mark a cell where you believe a capybara is located.
  • Continue analyzing color zones, rows, columns, and neighboring cells.
  • Find all capybaras before exhausting your allowed lives.

Effective strategies for solving Capybas

  • Start with the clues: Look for color zones, rows, or columns that have only one possible location left. Once an answer is confirmed, use it to eliminate related cells.
  • Apply the "no-adjacent" rule: Cells immediately surrounding a capybara including diagonal ones cannot contain another capybara. This is one of the fastest ways to narrow down the board.
  • Mark instead of guess: When unsure, mark excluded spots with an "X" rather than placing a capybara.
  • Track rows and columns: If a row or column already contains a capybara, all remaining cells in that row or column can be ruled out.
